cg 2015 annct full

Dear Creatifuls,

I’m super excited to announce we will have a ღ Creative GIRL ღ playshop for girls ages 9 to 14 during the last week of track out, Monday October 5th through Wednesday October 7th from 10 am to 2 pm in Northeast Raleigh. We’ll gather to play with clay, experiment with bookmaking, make jewelry, paint AND generate a fun and thoughtful kindness campaign. For more information and to register visit this linky.

Suggested registration is $125 per girl. There is also a creative pay-what-you-can scholarship option that will not alienate girls due to financial constraints.

Creative GIRL was created in 2013 to provide a safe and unique experience for girls to gather outside of family and school to share and listen, to honor creativity, self and otherly kindness, expression and empowerment. Creative GIRL playshops hold talking circles and explore multiple expressive art forms like journaling and painting, and promote kindness in action. www.creativegirl.net or email Becky at creativegirlnet@gmail.com.

It would be my great blessing to celebrate your daughter at our next program.

mighty creative adventure time

Mighty Creative Adventure 2015Dear Creatiful YOU,

I’m very excited about this special week coming. (Bzzzzzzz….Hummingbirds in my tummy.) Our first ever, Mighty Creative Adventure will bring mothers and daughters together–new friends from far and wide–to share a new experience, co-create memories for four days and three nights at our enchanted forest in the North Carolina mountains. We will learn new things, make a few things, share old stories, enjoy some s’mores over our campfires, while activating the great beauty, power and creativity within us. How does this sound?

We still have space for you and your mother (daughters ages 8 to 14 and mothers of all ages) to gather together to learn from each other, share, shine and LAUGH together as we adventure in a secret sanctuary located in the heart of the Pisgah National Forest, North Carolina–one of the oldest woodlands in America.

Can you come? Can you join us? Can you join the Mighty Creative Adventure?

It is not too late to say “Us too!” Much more info can be found at http://www.mightycreativeadventure.com or feel free to email me. We have one partial scholarship remaining, and a lodge room or shelter space for you. Oh, and yes, if you are flying we have a shuttle service to safely transport you from Asheville (AVL) airport to our secret gathering place.

What do you think? How does this sound? Can you join us? Me, my daughters, my dear friend and partner in creativity Wendy Cook, and the other moms and girls this Thursday? Let me know. We’d love to welcome you to the Mighty Creative Adventure.

with much love,

a mighty creative secret

invite against stone wall white(1)Dear Creative Girls,

There is something so special and wonderful about sharing a secret with a friend; a secret that revolves around love, joy and surprises, planned for people unawares! Do you know that feeling? You know… like planning a surprise party for someone you love, and they have NO idea all the details you’ve been planning and thinking and dancing to life for their DELIGHT. Well, I’ve had such a secret with a dear friend of mine, and the surpriseEEEE may be YOU.

And then there is the moment when the secret begins to reveal. Ahhhhhhhhhh! Well, we are now ready to tell you a little bit about. The creatiful nutshell of it all is that my beautiful friend–artist and activist Wendy Cook of Mighty Girl Art–and I are co-creating a retreat experience for YOU and your mother. (If you are a Mama of a Creative GIRL then it’s for YOU and your daughter.)

Many more details shall be revealed, but for now I will share that art, creativity, laughter and ancient trees are involved. Just you WAIT!!! I can’t tell you where just yet, but offer you the date… July 9th to 12th, 2015.

Oh, and our secret’s name? Mighty Creative Adventure…. but of course because that is what you get when you combine Mighty Girl with Creative Girl: MIGHTY CREATIVE! Be sure to join our email list if you want to know when registration opens. (Opt in over there … box on the right.) And visit and like the Creative GIRL facebook page.

I’m so blessed and grateful and excited to collaborate and co-create with Wendy: a woman whom I adore and feel so inspired by. We have countless joys and passions in common, most especially our commitment to the essence of YOU! I know you are going to ❤ Wendy, too.

How are you feeling? All goosebumpy and excited? Can you feel the magic coming?  Oooooh, if you knew what I know, you wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight for the butterfly joy of it all 🙂  Mmmmmmmm … more secret sharing coming soon 🙂

ever creatifully yours,

my passion, my purpose — YOU!

Dear Creative GIRLs (and the wonderful people who love them)~

Starting Creative GIRL has been one of the most amazing things I’ve EVER been part of. The revealing of this teeny little idea that is now a sacred business … well, I’ve been part of a group birthing process, birthing of an unknown radical idea, that so many people have supported this past year.

As a PR professional, I spent nearly 20 years promoting other people’s ideas, businesses and dreams. As a  writer I interviewed and wrote about some remarkable, inspired and passionate thought leaders and entrepreneurs. I was gifted a front row seat to their magic powers and how they achieved their successes! I was very blessed indeed. Unbeknownst to me I was in training for something really important, so very needed in our world.

After the interviews, while listening to the interview recordings, I’d find myself daydreaming about the future and MY finding something that I was equally passionate about. I didn’t know what I’d be called to do, but I daydreamed and played with my imagination, and opened my heart and mind to things that concerned me.

A few years ago I wished while writing in one of my journals:

I am working and creating, using my talents and gifts to make a difference in the world while receiving, without compromising my values or my family.

Wow. Makes me teary eyed to think about, but after a long and very pregnant pause from “my career” I have finally found myself on this path–a path that found me–and now I am smack-dab in the middle this Creative GIRL REAL-LIFE sacred-business-dream.

Although I’m not making lots of profit in the way society defines success (vis a vis money), I see a TRUER profit come through this experience: The profit is YOU! The greatest gift is YOU: You lighting up in your creative abilities. You shining your joy and enthusiasm for being truly and authentically YOU, and you being thoughtful, compassionate and using your creative flair to generate kindness in your wake.

You, Creative GIRL, inspire me!

Two months ago I had an amazing opportunity to share the intentions and inspiration behind Creative GIRL through a talk called PechaKucha Night in Raleigh, NC. The format is 20 slides, 20 seconds per slide … GO! No holding slides, no repeating slides, just GO. It’s NOT like me to be nervous about public speaking, but never in my whole adult life had I given a public talk about something that I care so much about: Creative GIRL with its layers of beauty, potential, truth–is blossoming and becoming.

Now I humbly share the talk I gave. I am deeply grateful to PechaKucha Night Raleigh organizers, Cyn MacGregor and the crew at Cynergie Studio for this opportunity and for their creation of this beautiful professional video from the evening.

I leave you with this quote from Wayne Dyer:
“Only those who risk going too far will know how far they can go.”

love and heart-expanding gratitude
